| Today was the first day of Sophomore year (yay?), and I, for one, am exhausted. I believe this is the part where I go through my day and complain about how hard it was. Well, first hour, I have Creative Writing. Mr. Creative Writing somehow of Mr. Guitar, because they have a similar sense of humor. He was more student-friendly than Mr. Guitar, but that's not really saying much (Although Mr. Guitar was pretty much awesome). I'm not quite ready to make the call on whether he's passed the cool test. I got in there, and a senior with autism came to sit next to me. It was a bit awkward, but a couple people I knew were behind me, so it wasn't bad. He asked me what color notebook he should use. I told him blue. On to the next hour. Second hour I have Mrs. Team Sports, who I had last year. She's pretty nice. The problem is, there are only four other girls in that class, and I don't know them very well. And there are juniors and seniors in there too, so that is my not-so-great hour. Next I go to third hour Algebra 2, which I'm scared for. It is apparently a huge jump from Geometry, so I'm worried. Hopefully, I will find a way to fight the late-year slacking. Mr. Algebra 2 is apparently really boring, but he seemed cool enough. It is considered an advanced placement class here, but there were I 15-18 other Sophomores in there. A couple of them are taking pre-calculus too this year. One of them is also in Cross Country this year. I worry for their mental health. I also pointed out how heavy our textbooks were to them. Now they are mad at me. Fourth hour is World History. I'm actually looking forward to it, because they don't teach us much history nowadays. Mr. World History is actually really cool. He's kind of nerdy, and I like the way he thinks. I have one friend in there, but she sits far far away. That class is also interrupted halfway through for lunch, but I'd rather I had that for Algebra 2, so I can take a quick break to remember how to think. After History, we go to Honors Biology. I'm not quite sure what to think about Mrs. Biology yet, but for that hour we had to go outside to find an example of a producer, a consumer, and so on. We caught a grasshopper for our consumer. I named him Richard. I know at least a couple of people in there, so I think I'll be okay for that hour. Before heading off to English in seventh hour, I have Spanish, which is really going to throw me off. I'm hoping I won't be handing in English papers written in Spanish. Profe Spanish was cool, but she gave us homework the first day. I guess it's not really homework, but we don't need that yet. I remembered a good chunk of what we learned last year, which is good. There isn't much else to say, really. After sixth hour, I head off to the last class of the day: English. Do you know that class you have every year in which everyone is really friendly and talkative? Well, not sure if I'm going to have one this year, but English is the most likely candidate. Ms. English was probably the nicest teacher of the day. She's pregnant, so she asked us to wash our hands so that we don't give her the H1N1 disease. I think that's reasonable. We did a cheesy skit about respecting each other in the classroom, and it said "F" on the script, but the kid actually said the F word. That made me laugh. So there you have it. From the looks of it, it is going to be a long year. I slacked a ton in cross country afterwards, but hopefully that won't become a routine. I got home at about 5:30 to 6:00. I would give today a 3/5, but that's just today. We'll just have to see what happens. I really hope that the combination of school, cross country, homework, and studying (I have to learn how to do that this year) doesn't tire me out too much, because I still need to read through my Bible! Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to go have me some chicken noodle soup! |
